"KALALA" LAKE MUSEUM

Lake Museum is situated on the east shore of the lake, in building of the Estonian University of Life Scieces, Limnological Centre. Tourist information centre and educational centre for inland waterbodies is operating in the building.

BARBARA VILLAGE CENTRE

This building, named after the legendary countess Barbara von Tiesenhausen, drowned in Võrtsjärv in the 16th century, is located in the communal granary of the time, which has been preserved from a rich knight`s manor. Today, the building is owned by Rannu municipality as the village and information centre. Municipality museum and handicraft hall will be developed in the building.

PIKASSILLA RECREATIONAL AREA

Pikasilla has always been the southern gate to the Lake Võrtsjärv and an important waterway. The Väike (i.e. small) Emajõgi River, 83.6 kilometres long, flows there and comprises the largest Lake Võrtsjärv inflow due to its catchment basin of 1273 square kilometres.

The riverside rest and recreation zone was constructed in 2006 and includes a proper wharf, auxiliary buildings, car park, stadium and drilled well.

LAKE VÕRTSJÄRV VISITOR CENTER
      

On the borders of Rannu and Kolga-Jaani municipality, beside the mouth of the River Emajõgi, the Lake Võrtsjärv Visitors Centre was opened in 2009. The Centre was constructed out of ecological materials - clay, wood, chipboard and straw's.                                                     

Lake Võrtsjärv Visitor Centre provides information about tourism opportunities in Lake Võrtsjärv region. It is possible to book different tourism services and products (phone +372 56 952950, info@vortsjarv.ee ).

In the building we have good possibilities to carry out various events like trainings, seminars, workshops. We have also presentation equipment – computer, data projector, wifi.

From the beginning of May to the end of September we are open daily from 10 to 18.
